Conditions We Treat
Elevated PSA
A prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test is often helpful in diagnosing prostate cancer in men who have no symptoms.
Enlarged Prostate
An enlarged prostate is referred to as BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy). The prostate is part of the male reproductive system and produces the fluid for semen.
Erectile Dysfunction
ED (erectile dysfunction) is experienced by up to 30 million men and is the most common sexual problem treated by doctors. ED can happen occasionally in all men, but if it happens routinely, it should be treated.
Incontinence
Do you have problems with incontinence? Although women are more likely to develop incontinence, it is not a problem just for women.
Low Testosterone
As men age, testosterone levels begin to decrease. Some studies have shown that testosterone deficiency is more common when men have diabetes or are overweight.
Male Infertility
Infertility is a diagnosis applied when a couple does not get pregnant after one year of trying (unless the woman is over the age of 35, and it is six months).
Penile Prosthesis
The inability to achieve or sustain an erection is called erectile dysfunction (ED). Medication and other treatments sometimes do not resolve ED. Magic Valley Urology in Twin Falls, Idaho, offers penile implants as a surgical treatment for ED.
Peyronie’s Disease
Peyronie’s Disease is seen in approximately 4 men out of 100 between the ages of 40 and 70, although the number could be higher due to embarrassment about discussing these problems with a doctor. Peyronie’s Disease has been diagnosed in some men in their 30s, but it is very rare.
Premature Ejaculation
During an orgasm, semen pulses out of the penis. This is called ejaculation. When ejaculation occurs sooner than it should during sex, it is called premature ejaculation or PE.
Prostate Cancer
The prostate is located below the bladder. It is a component of the male reproductive system with the two seminal vesicles branching for each side. Approximately the size of a walnut, it weighs one ounce and surrounds the urethra.
Prostate Infection
Prostatitis is a painful condition caused by a bacterial infection or injury to the prostate. If you are having long-term or sharp pelvic pain, you need to call Magic Valley Urology for an appointment.
Scrotal Masses
Many masses that develop in the scrotum are benign and do not need specific treatment other than medication. The masses could be formed by inflammation, enlarged veins, or cysts.
Testicular Cancer
Testicular cancer is any cancer that begins in the testicles and most often presents in men from ages 15 to 44 but has been seen at many different ages.
Testicular Pain
The testicles are some of the most sensitive organs in the male body, as evidenced by the tears, nausea, and collapsing that occurs when a man has been hit in the groin.
Vasectomy
a vasectomy is the best method of birth control, secondary only to abstinence. Approximately 500,000 men have a vasectomy done each year.
Vasectomy Reversal
What if you change your mind after having a vasectomy? Call Magic Valley Urology to schedule a consultation about vasectomy reversal.
